Luigi Sacca Research Study - Naples, Italy ( 1989 )

Growth Hormone and the Heart
Sacca, Luigi; Cittadini, A.; Fazio, S. - Endocrinology Review 1994; 15: 555 - 573

The Research Study

In 1989, in Naples, Italy, Dr. Luigi Sacca, along with other researchers, performed a research study on some adult patients who had experienced moderate to severe heart failure. They studied and evaluated the effects of a special treatment plan using Synthetic Human Growth Hormone ( HGH ).

The Results

They discovered that when the HGH therapy was given to these adults, alongside the standard treatment for heart failure, it produced a noticeable increase in efficiency of the energy consumption of the heart. At the same time, it also enabled the heart to pump a higher volume of blood.

Furthermore, the HGH treatment also caused a similar increase in blood circulation, by reducing peripheral vascular resistance.

The Conclusions

This important research study opened the door to using of Human Growth Hormone ( HGH ) to enhance cardiovascular output in healthy people.

Moreover, it revealed that HGH therapy could be used as an additional medical treatment plan for patients with heart disease.
